Product Design
Launched November 2024
OVERVIEW
Speedback is a technology and software enterprise that builds lean digital health platforms to enable innovative care models at speed and scale. As the first Product Designer, I was responsible for problem space discovery and working with our engineers to launch our first customer-facing product interface.
IMPACT
Working in a team of 4, I was able to contribute to and achieve the following as a Product Designer for Speedback:
Launch of Speedback in 3.5 months, # of Active Users - 50
Total Actualised Contract Revenue = $500k
6-month research work with National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS)
Reduced 3-4 Daily Home Visits to Automated Vitals Tracking
WHY SPEEDBACK?
Though the need for real-time context has increased, clinical partners and providers tend to still rely on manual operations to collect information, context. In teams where shift work is the norm, informational and productivity gains are compromised due to lack of lightweight tooling.
TIMELINE
Based on an internal launch timeline of 3 months, I had to prioritise discovery and iteration of core features. This would then be followed by launch and setup of usability, support and discovery pipelines.
DISCOVERY
Though the team had a partially validated hypothesis on Speedback as a product, we sought to explore the space more deeply for product market fit. We explored the space through iterative rounds of interviews with healthcare experts, community care teams and patients to understand common threads in coordination, communication.
This included rapid prototyping of proof-of-concepts for attachments, client meets and lean synthesization of insights on a daily basis. Weekly review was conducted to clarify and decide upon actionables following design discovery.
PROCESS
Rapid iteration and discovery allowed us to narrow down on the following core features and findings:
Personalized, automated and rule-based settings for health metrics, beginning with common vital statistics.
Simple passkey authentication (Face or Touch ID), with direct information hierarchy (within 2 clicks) in mobile and desktop interface.
Focus on non-sensitive, actionable health metrics vs personally identifiable sensitive data (siloed within organizational security).
B2B2C Model: Speedback -> Clinician Teams -> Selected Patient Populations
SPEEDBACK: NOW
Speedback is now a year old, and serving clinical, community care partners in Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand. Being able to contribute as an early designer has emphasize the importance of rapid turnaround and a data-focused decision making.
